Each year, Studentum evaluates several categories to determine the leading student cities. In its assessment of Longyearbyen, the study environment, student accommodation and strong academic standards are highlighted as the key reasons why students thrive here.
“Longyearbyen is an excellent choice for students, with good opportunities to secure student accommodation and an engaging academic environment.
Here, you can study specialised Arctic subjects such as geology, biology and geophysics, all delivered to a high academic standard. The range of courses is limited, but for those with an interest in environmental and Arctic studies, it is an ideal destination,” Studentum writes in its justification for the ranking.
