UNIS is funded by the Ministry of Education and Research to offer research-based higher education with an international profile. The educational offer is a supplement to the education provided by the Norwegian universities.

How to apply

First, you must fulfil the academic requirements listed in the admission regulations and, where applicable, any additional course requirements set by UNIS.

Application for studies at UNIS is done online. Detailed information on the process, required documentation etc. is provided here.

Admission regulations

Before applying to UNIS, you must be enrolled at Bachelor, Master, or PhD level at a Norwegian institution of higher education, or enrolled at Bachelor, Master, or PhD level at an accredited institution of higher education outside Norway. The minimum requirements for admission to higher education in Norway are set by NOKUT. For country specific information, please see the GSU-list.

Applicants must fulfil academic requirements and, where applicable, any additional course requirements set by UNIS.

Exam regulations

The regulations have been prepared in close cooperation with the Norwegian universities, and were approved by the UNIS Board on 14 February 2013 with amendments added 11 September 2014.
