We invite all environmental chemists or scientists working in associated relevant research areas from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to the

NECC 2010 meeting in Longyearbyen (Svalbard, Norway) March 2-5, 2010.

NEW 22.02.2010:

Complete program and participant list (PdF)

ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY IN NORDIC ENVIRONMENTS

Environmental Chemistry is considered today as an important interdisciplinary research area within the complex field of environmental sciences. The planned meeting is meant to create and enhance strong expert co-operation networks among environmental scientists within the Nordic countries. The conference series was originally initiated a decade ago as bi-national Norwegian-Swedish co-operation. However, from 2010 the meeting is also addressing environmental chemistry research conducted in Denmark, Finland and other Nordic countries.

Aside the general aspects of "Environmental chemistry in Nordic environments", topics like green chemistry, environmental toxicology and effects, bioaccumulation, transformation processes, monitoring and regulatory issues are addressed. The conference invites presentations on all issues of anthropogenic and biogenic pollution including radionuclides and nano-size materials.
