Research projects:
Carbon capture and storage
Research interest:
My main research topic is on basin fill deposits in the North Atlantic and the Arctic realm with focus on regional geology/basin studies and petroleum geology/energy resources. I am currently also coordinating the UNIS CO2 laboratory.
Sub topics:
1. Unconventional reservoirs as storage sites
2. Lower Cretaceous clastic wedges in the North Atlantic/East Greenland and the Barents Sea/Svalbard
3. Improved reservoir characterization of Triassic and Jurassic shallow marine sandstone bodies
4. Basin and sequence stratigraphic link between the Arctic onshore Mesozoic/Cenozoic outcrops and their subsurface offshore counterparts
5. Pressure development and efficient seal properties in uplifted arctic basins
6. Permian facies development in the Northernmost Europe
7. Climates changes and basin development/ configuration in the Pennsylvanian of the Northern Pangea e.g. Oslo Region, North Atlantic/East Greenland and the Barents Sea/Svalbard
8. Facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy of the Hirnantian, in the Oslo Region.
