Susanne Meidell

Susanne Meidell

Physical Geography, University of Bergen
I really want to be a researcher when I grow up. I haven’t decided what I want to work with, maybe geology. But I definitely want to work out doors, and hopefully in the arctic, solving some important questions

Anja Lyng Bækken

Anja Lyng Bækken

Space Physics, University of Oslo

I just started my master degree in space and plasma physics, mainly focusing on the aurora and I hope I will be able to work with this later on. I also work as a teacher in high school and think this is really interesting, so I hope to continue this work part-time for some years.

Mihkel Järveoja
Mihkel Järveoja

Physical geography, University of Tartu
I am going to start my masters this autumn and focusing probably on mapping and investigating last glaciation moraine ridges, using both GIS and field work data. At the same time I am interested in humans’ life in harsh areas like arctic and the traditional way of living there.

Ingrid Myrnes Hansen

Ingrid Myrnes Hansen

Marine Biology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology

I have half a year left of by bachelor in marine biology in Trondheim. I like my study a lot, and I hope I can work in the Barents Sea and the Arctic later on.

Inger Haugsgjerd

Inger Haugsgjerd

Environment and Natural Recources, Norwegian University of Life Sciences
I will finish my master degree by march next year. My thesis is about treatment of Acid Mine Drainage and I hope to do more work on related subjects in the future.

I’m on my last year on my Master and after that a hope I will get a job on a project or a place were a can have most of the work outside in the nature

Marcus Zanacchi

Marcus Zanacchi

Oceanography, University of Plymouth, England
I have recently finished my BSc (Hons) Ocean Science. For my third year dissertation I studied the effects of flocculation on settling velocities of cohesive sediments. However I have recently become interested in Polar oceanography and in particular the formation of water masses in the Arctic basin.

Kristin Heggland

Biology, University of Bergen
I am on my second year of by bachelor in biology and I have been up at Svalbard studying since January and are staying till December. One particular aspect of Arctic biology I find fascinating is how fauna and flora agreeable to adapt to the environment.
